$541-$551 Roundtrip to Hawaii

Sample Dates: Newark to Maui, April 8-17 on American Airlines

Search on ITA Matrix by calendar of lowest fares for acceptable trip lengths. Here are searches I ran for Chicago to Kona in September.

There are also cheap dates from to all four major Hawaiian islands from Newark, Houston, and Chicago (United hubs) on American Airlines/US Airways flights.

I believe most roundtrips from these hubs to Honolulu are $541, and to the other islands are $551 excluding Saturday departures. The valid dates are August 2015 to May 2016.

Hover over a departure date with $541 to $551 roundtrips, and you will see a pop up like this, and as long as you don’t select a Saturday return, you should pay $551.

You cannot book on ITA Matrix. Instead note the dates and search on aa.com.

Open Jaw

I say to see a new Hawaiian Island for every 3-4 days of your trip. I priced out open jaw tickets at about $100 more.

For comparison, a one way interisland flights is usually about $80.
