The US Airways Premier World MasterCard is offering me 5 miles per dollar at grocery stores, drug stores, and electronic stores for the next three months via a targeted email. Check your inbox for the same or a similar offer.

What offer did I get?

I just got the following email:

I quickly clicked the Activate button and got this message:

It seems like the US Airways Premier World MasterCard is constantly running promotions. Most people who get the card seem to be offered 15k bonus miles to spend $750 per month on the card over three straight months, and we saw a similar promotion to the current one for January to March.

During that promotion, the offers varied. People reported different categories and different category bonuses, up to 10x for some lucky people. If that’s the case this time, mine looks good but average. Here are my terms and conditions:

My terms say I will earn “5 bonus miles” per dollar spent. Since I already earn 1 mile per dollar spent, I understand this to mean I will get 6 US Airways per dollar spent at grocery stores, drug stores, and electronic stores. The maximum bonus miles I can earn are 2,500, which would be $500 worth of spending.

That means one $500 gift card would be 3,000 US Airways miles, which I value at about $60, or about a 12% rebate.

What other offers have people received? Did I luck out or did you get a better offer?

To take advantage of future US Airways card offers–and to get 30k US Airways miles before the card disappears during the merger with American Airlines–consider the US Airways Premier World MasterCard with 30,000 US Airways miles after first purchase.
