Below is a list of every oneworld alliance flight from New York City flown by British Airways, American Airlines, Cathay Pacific, LAN, Iberia, Japan Airlines, and Qantas. I have also included non-oneworld partners on which you can book flights with Avios miles– Alaska Airlines, Aer Lingus, and airberlin. Routes only operated by Alaska Airlines, Aer Lingus, or airberlin have an * because they can only be booked over the phone (800-AIRWAYS), which will incur a $25 fee.
The list is divided into International routes and Domestic routes. Within each group, the routes are listed from most Avios required to fewest. For each route the miles listed are for economy/business/first class and are times 1000 for a three-cabin plane. If the route is operated by a two-cabin plane, it’s just economy/business or first, whatever the premium cabin is called.
Routes and classes that use fewer Avios than the number of AAdvantage miles required are in bold. Routes and classes that use more Avios than the number of AAdvantage miles required are crossed out. If Avios equals AAdvantage for that class and route, the route and number of miles are written normally. Of course, bold doesn’t mean the redemption is a good deal. Don’t forget about the crippling fuel surcharges to Europe, Australia, Africa, and Asia.
If I’ve made a mistake, please let me know.

“Below is a list of every oneworld alliance flight from Los Angeles flown by British Airways,…”
This should say New York City, not Los Angeles!
A wonderful resource, I can’t imagine how much work that took!
Thanks for the list.
Thank you for putting this together! How do I book a one-way from NYC to Hong Kong for 35,000 Avios? When i tried the BA search engine I could not see such a low redemption. Thanks!
Click on include partners. You need to fly direct for it to be 35,000 Avios. See this post on how to book on ba.com: https://milevalu.wpengine.com/free-first-class-next-month-using-ba-com-to-make-award-bookings/
This is fantastic; I’d been using Wikipedia pages but now I can refer to this. I’m very impressed with the blog so far; so much regurgitation elsewhere but you produce so much original content!
Amazing list, this blog has quickly become one of my favorite blogs if not my favorite. Agree with Egg that there’s a ridiculous amount of regurgitation as well as affiliate link motivation on other blogs so this is incredibly refreshing. Thank you!
Thanks!
Btw, quick question: were you able to search for availability with airberlin? Their website doesn’t seem to be working for me.
You have to call to get airberlin award space still. Hopefully you’ll be able to book it on ba.com soon.
Gotcha, thanks!
Which airline flies to Halifax (YHZ) from NYC? I can’t seem to find any oneworld or BA partners that do.
If there ever were any, there aren’t now, so I’ve corrected it. Thanks.
Are all of these one-way miles required/charges only? Thanks
Yes, those are all oneways.
We just booked 2 business class tickets, non-stop, JFK to Hong Kong on Cathay Pacific but the miles and fees weren’t cheap, 240,000 Avios/$700 total.
Any new destinations since 2012?
Yes, I’m sure there are. And some have probably been lost. You can check your favorite airport’s wikipedia page, and I hope to update this at some point.
