A very generous reader who came to the MileValue Happy Hour in New York City this week is donating five (5) American Airlines Systemwide Upgrades that expire Friday February 28, 2014 to MileValue readers.
Follow generous Tom on twitter to show your appreciation.
An American Airlines Systemwide Upgrade entitles you to an upgrade of one class of service on all flights on a one way itinerary that are operated by American Airlines or American Eagle if upgrade space is available.
This giveaway has tremendous value to you if you have a trip booked that meets the following conditions:
- paid itinerary (not award)
- operated by American Airlines or American Eagle (not partners)
- with upgrade space on your flights
- and the entire one way itinerary will be flown between Monday 2/24 and Friday 2/28 at 11:59 PM CT
There is only one way to enter:
Comment on this post with the number of passengers, date, and itinerary you are flying. Remember that you need to be flying American Airlines flights next Monday through Friday.
(If you are one of the thousands of people who have signed up to receive one free daily email every morning with all of the day’s posts, do NOT reply to that email! Click on the post title to come to the website and leave a comment there.)
Some time tomorrow (Saturday), I’ll start selecting and contacting people. My strong desire is to get these upgrades used on international and longer itineraries.
Then the generous donor will call the Executive Platinum line this weekend to redeem his Systemwide Upgrades for your trip.
For full information on American Airlines Systemwide Upgrades, see AA.com on the subject.
Good luck.

Would be amazing… flying for work, just got into miles last year, never flown up front.
Flying US on Sunday to PHX but coming back Friday on AA 1101 (PHX to DFW) and AA 2510 (DFW to TYS).
1 passenger. Thanks for the opportunity!
I don’t have your details Kevin. I think I still have one left for some reason so if I get ’em before Thursday night I’ll try to tack one on for you too.
Hello! I’ll be flying all by lonesome self this Friday, Feb. 28 from Santa Ana (SNA) to Dallas/Ft. Worth (DFW) to Lafayette (LFT) on American and American Eagle respectively. The SNA-DFW segment is operated by American as a mailine flight with a B737-800 aircraft. I would love to upgrade on this flight as I’ll be heading home after what will no doubt be a long, grueling week of meetings at a big annual convention in Anaheim. So please have mercy on this lowly AAdvantage Gold! Thanks!!! And Cheers!!! – Jeff Lemon
Jeff,
Your Upgrade is good to go as well!! Always hate to see someone frazzled in connections after a long conference!! 🙂
Cheers.
My wife and I both have DFW-SAN legs next week. She’s flying on the Wednesday and I’m joining on Thursday. I know it’s not international, but if you have extras, we’d love the upgrade.
Hey Ryan, I got your details and you got you on but I never got your wife’s details unfortunately, or I would have done hers too. Enjoy the flight!
Ahhhh sweet! My 82 year old mother is flying Monday to saint croix on American. I think her ight originates in Houston at IAH. I’m calling her now to confirm. She would be so shocked and would LOVE LOVE LOVE this. Thanks to the person who donated, no matter who wins!
Heading out to Phoenix from Miami on February 27th on AA53 and AA1023 by myself for a conference. Girlfriend is also flying on AA147 later that evening to meet me out there. Would love an upgrade to first class on these flights! If only one is possible she would really enjoy the first class treatment since she has yet to experience it.
Hey Kyle,
I didn’t put two and two together at first, but Scott was formidably just able to clarify from his hut somewhere in Asia 🙂
She’s been upgraded as it was immediately available after all.
So we are all good to go.
Cheers.
Taking LAX-JFK on 2/28 on the new A321 by myself. Still see a few business class seats and am confident that I’d get upgraded using a SWU. Last day of my EXP status so I’m really hoping to get a good look at the new transcontinental flight before I move over my business to UA.
It’s not an international itinerary, but I figure it’s about as long as you can get domestic at 2475 miles. Crossing my fingers.
Soooooo close…I’m flying solo JFK to LAX this Sunday
I’m flying JFK-LAX on AA21 on Feb 28, but it was booked through US so I’m not sure it’s upgradeable.
would love an upgrade on my flight from RSW-DFW-SAN 2/26 – flying solo
Joji,
You need to get to the gate in DFW and tell the GA to have your ticket re-issued for the DFW-SAN leg as the information is already in there. Very pertinent because its the last seat in First Class and they are holding it for you!! But you have to actively ask the Gate Agent explicitly or they will not reissue as you are already in-flight and they will just put in your original seat without checking the record. Sorry it couldn’t get done for the first RSW-DFW segment in time.
I’m flying with my dad from DUS (Europe) to FLL tommorow (or monday) and back on the 2nd of March, so it would be great if we are upgraded!
Kilian: Your DUS-DLL has been confirmed and you guys are set to go all the way through ORD to FLL . Watch out for the email. – – All the best. X
I am still liasoning with Scott for the rest.
Sorry I meant to say DUS-FLL. It’s these darn Smartphones and the Auto correct!
Tom – Thanks so much for the upgrade to my DFW – SAN flight for Thursday. My wife is obviously very jealous that she missed the boat and couldn’t get upgraded on the same flight for Wednesday, which will make it that much sweeter for me! Thanks again.
Tom, thank you for the upgrade! Can’t wait for the flight tomorrow and hope the first leg of my trip clears as well. However, even one leg in first class will make the trip that much more enjoyable.
Hey Kyle,
The Airline said they are getting bounced emails of Caroline’s Email for her upgrade to Flight #147. Can you please confirm she got the email?
Thanks!
Tom,
She was actually unable to travel with me due to a sudden illness but wanted me to thank you anyway. Also they upgraded her on the return as well for some reason. She tried to transfer it to me for my return but was unable to. Thanks so much for the upgrade today I really enjoyed the flight.
Jeff,
Your Upgrade is good to go as well!! Always hate to see someone frazzled in connections after a long conference!! 🙂
Cheers.
At this point, everyone who posted on this page got the Upgrades. 🙂
So happy travels all!
Ciao!
Thanks, TOM!
