Just an FYI… I don’t think this post is totally accurate. From my experience (since I’m monitoring for seats this coming December) the Qantas search engine differs from what AA’s site shows. I was definitely able to book 2 Business class seats (DFW – SYD) on dates that didn’t show up on AA’s site, but does on Qantas’. Although extremely rare (and more toward the 331 days out), there were single First Class seats that show up as available on Qantas’ search. I have yet to come across 2 open First Class seats on any flight between Australia and the US though… so hoping for last-minute cancels or late releases.
