Tahsir forwarded to me the following offer for the Business Gold Rewards Card that was emailed to his friend:
- 75k bonus Membership Rewards
- after spending $5k in the first three months
- all the other features of the card’s standard offers
Everyone should check their emails for a similar email from American Express with the subject: “Your pre-approv
If you don’t have one, it’s possible that the offer will be public tomorrow.
How good is the offer? Who can get in on it?
This is an incredible offer. The card itself is excellent as I’ve profiled here because of its excellent category bonuses like 3x on flights.
This card has often had a 75k offer, but in those cases the minimum spending requirement has been $10k over three months. The card currently has a 50k public offer, and the minimum spending requirement is only $5k over three months.
That means this new targeted offer is the better bonus and better spending requirement.
If you weren’t targeted with this offer, don’t despair. It’s possible that the Business Gold Card’s public offer will change tomorrow to match this targeted offer. And maybe the change would be to bump the bonus to 75k Membership Rewards.
Did you get the targeted email offer?
Just getting started in the world of points and miles? The Chase Sapphire Preferred is the best card for you to start with.
With a bonus of 60,000 points after $4,000 spend in the first 3 months, 5x points on travel booked through the Chase Travel℠ and 3x points on restaurants, streaming services, and online groceries (excluding Target, Walmart, and wholesale clubs), this card truly cannot be beat for getting started!

Can you get this card if you already have the personal version?
Yes. The restrictions on getting this card are laid out in the app and have to do with having other AMEX business cards recently.
I got targeted for the Amex Gold Premier [non-business] 2 weeks ago for only a $1,000 spend to get a 50G bonus! I snapped it up, of course!
Any other lucky churners out there?
I really hope that this offer goes public in the next couple days as I was just planning to apply for the AMEX Gold.
Will American Express match an improved introductory offer to recent applicants, as Chase will?
Unfortunately, I must say they will not do it. I recently applied for a business Amex card with 50K Membership Rewards points. A few days later there was an offer where one could have gotten 75K instead. I spoke to them over the phone some 3 times, send quite a number of emails but the answer I kept on getting was the following message:
“While I appreciate your request to match the offer to your account, please understand that all our promotions are time bound, solicited and unique. They cannot be applied manually to an account on which they were not solicited.”
Scott,
I got this BGC with same offer acouple months ago, the card is good with 2x and 3x categories. Yesterday amex sent an email to upgrade for platinum Business card and only giving 25k points.. Is it worth it? Technically it would be a soft pull so yes? The only reason I question is they take away all 2x and 3x categories, I use the card for gas a lot. I dont need spg gold, and i only travel internationally 2x a year so lounges not a huge deal. But if I do the math, it makes sense logistically
$200 for airline 2013
$200 for airline 2014
$100 Global Entry
makes Platinum -$50 for first year
Something just makes me wanna cancel and wait 12 months for another 100k offer…Any thoughts? Am I too greedy?
That’s a close call. Skip it if you want to wait and see if there is a 100k offer in the future. Accept it if you want the sure guarantee of a good deal.
