10xTravel has acquired MileValue and we are absolutely thrilled about it.

That’s it. That’s both the headline and the story.

We are thrilled to have the opportunity to continue to build upon an amazing and well-respected brand. We are thrilled to engage with a new audience of points & miles enthusiasts. And we are thrilled to bring our values and ideas from 10xT to both of these things.

We are going to briefly talk about all of these things today.

But before we do that, I first want to congratulate Sarah and the entire team for all that they’ve done to build MileValue to what it is today. I have been a reader and follower of MileValue for years, and now I’m honored to be involved with it as we start this next phase of this great company.

Who Am I?

I’m Matt Brown, and I’ll be heading things up here at MileValue. I’ve been in points and miles seriously for the last 5 or 6 years, but casually my whole life as my dad traveled extensively for work most of my youth, and almost all of our vacations were made possible by redeeming Marriott points and US Airways Dividend Miles to take us all over the world.

I’ve been working at 10xTravel for a few years not only as a writer and contributor but as a moderator in our Facebook Group. I also head up all of the tech for 10xTravel as the Director of Digital.

Some of my favorite trips on points and miles over recent years have been multiple trips to Europe and the Caribbean, as well as Australia, South America and more.

You’ll also be seeing a bit of Bryce Conway around the site. Bryce is the Founder of 10xTravel and will be assisting me with a little bit of everything around here.

10xTravel Is Different In That…

We believe in the power of community, both offline and online. We have a Facebook group of 58,000+ that is committed to open posting (which is almost unheard of for a group this size) and being as helpful as possible. We’re extremely proud of our group, and the community that we’ve built.

We also host a handful of in person meetups each year, including a massive weekend long reader meetup bash in Las Vegas.

We strongly believe in the importance of honesty and transparency when it comes to this business. We will always tell you what we think is in your best interests, regardless of what it means for our own financial incentives.

Building a relationship and building trust with our readers is how we do business. And we wholeheartedly intend on carrying these same guiding principles with us over to MileValue.

Plans for MileValue

Our plans for MileValue are to continue producing the most helpful content related to points, miles, travel and more that we possibly can. This begins right away (you’ll see new content starting next week even). There will be some new contributors to MileValue that help to share this content, but if you also happen to be a reader of 10xTravel, you might recognize some familiar faces.

We’re absolutely going to continue offering the award booking service that so many of you have used to help redeem your points and miles in the most aspirational ways possible.

This service will also utilize some of our new contributors. They are award booking ninjas – they know award charts and transfer partners like the back of their hands, and will help plan your future travel in order to make your dream trip a reality.

We will also be keeping the free personalized credit card consultations that so many of you have taken advantage of in the past

We have literally done hundreds of these consultations for our 10xTravel readers during the pandemic and we look forward to continuing this great service for MileValue readers.

In short – MileValue will remain MileValue.

Yes, it is now “powered by 10xTravel” if you will, but this site and brand will continue to operate independently.

We have no plans to change that. Ever.

That being said, we have also been working on some plans to launch an entirely new concept into the world of points and miles under the MileValue brand that is designed to help bring more voices into the world of publishing miles and points content.

While we can’t tell you much else about it just yet, we’re really excited about its potential for bringing even more great content to all of the MileValue readers. We’re already busy working on this concept and know that you’re going to love it.

Let’s Connect

I look forward to getting to know as many of you as possible. Digitally at first, and hopefully someday in person at a meetup.

But until then, please feel free to drop a line to either myself (matt@milevalue.com) or Bryce (bryce@milevalue.com) anytime. We’d love to meet you, and collect any sort of thoughts or feedback from you at any time.

If you’re well-versed in points and miles and have wanted to get into producing content, please feel free to send me an email and introduce yourself. We’re always open to meeting new people who can contribute great content and share their knowledge with our readers.

We look forward to serving you!

Safe Travels,

Matt
