Update: I booked myself a room. You have to check out with MasterPass. This only added a few seconds to checkout. I selected Citi as an option from the MasterPass menu and signed in with my Citi account details. I enrolled in MasterPass and added my Citi cards in a few clicks. Then I checked out and got confirmation for a $17 one night stay in Lima that I’ll use when I take a 23 hour layover there this month.
Orbitz is offering $100 off hotel bookings that are at least $100 pre-tax for stays before September 30, 2015.
This is only good for last minute travel, since you need to stay in the next 12 days. Also, not all properties are eligible for the promotion.
To get your $100 off, enter promo code MASTERPASS during searching on orbitz.com.
Look for properties that say PROMO CODE ELIGIBLE under their price.
Make sure the pre-tax cost is $100 or more. I found a hotel that cost $104 per night pre-tax. After the promotion, the total price is $16.45.My spidey sense is tingling that this promotion should not be open to everyone and that Orbitz will shut this deal down in the next few hours or minutes. If you want in, book now. I suspect this offer is for such a limited time, that I will tweet it out on my @MileValueAlerts account, which is designed to text out limited time deals like mistake fares.

Where’s the GIVEAWAY ?????????
Worried reader ..
Got the pushed tweet & just booked a $9 room for my parents next week in Traverse City, MI. Signing up for Masterpass didn’t seem to be a big deal, I used my Citi Premier. Thanks for the heads up!
I am glad to hear the system for texting the limited time deals worked. Hear that, everyone? Do this: https://milevalu.wpengine.com/how-1214-people-get-mistake-fares-texted-to-them/
Looks like this promo code / opportunity is dead already. Just got this response at the top of the results page when searching Orbitz for a stay next week:
“We’re sorry but limited numbers of this promo code were available for redemption and the limit has been reached. Promo code rules”
Not surprising. That’s why I tweeted it on @MileValueAlerts
