My US Airways miles have been transferred into my American Airlines account. This is a screenshot from my AAdvantage account.
My American Airlines mile balance shows the correct total.
I also applied for a new US Airways card last week and was approved. After I make my first purchase, and the statement closes in about a month, I should earn 50,000 bonus miles. I assume they will be deposited directly into my American Airlines account.

I can also confirm an interesting new development. First, my US Airways credit card was automatically converted to AAdvantage aviator overnight. Then, this morning I booked a flight from Buenos Aires to Washington for 20,000 AA miles (I waited for my US miles to transfer so I can purchase the booking). I was instantly credited 2000 miles back (10% bonus on having the Barclays credit card!) It used to take some time before I would get the credit when I had the Citi AA card a few years ago. Effectively, I just paid 18k aa miles for one-way BUE-DCA!
Fantastic, and enjoy Buenos Aires.
My AA account was consolidated as of this morning! Thank you for all of your advice.
Awesome! Enjoy your one big(ger) balance.
Mine were combined over the weekend while on a weekend trip to Miami. Now my gf and I can book 1st class to SE Asia (pending availability of course).
They created a separate AA account for me and didn’t merge my accounts. How do I reconcile?

I was approved for the Barclays card, met the criteria for the 50,000 point bonus but the points were not credited before my US and AA accounts were merged. How does this work?
I don’t think anyone knows how you’ll get your miles, but I’ll bet anything you do.
