Daily Getaways is a series of daily discounted travel packages sponsored by the US Travel Association that starts Monday and runs for five weeks. Every weekday at 1 PM ET, a discounted travel package or packages will go on sale, and the best deals sell out in just a few minutes.
In 2013, I blogged every deal. In 2014 and 2015, I just blogged the good ones:
- IHG Rewards Points for 0.57 Cents Means $29 Hotels
- Save $120 on Car Rentals Today Only
- Today Only: 19% Off Any Future Marriott Stay
- Many more
The best deals tend to be the selling of hotel points at super low prices or the purchasing of underpriced certificates for hotel stays and car rentals.
I’ll again blog the best deals this year. My plan is to give a quick overview of each week’s deals some time during the week before, so you can get an idea which days you’ll want to be ready to pounce with some anticipation. Then, on the day of the good deals, by 9 AM ET so my email subscribers get the post too, I’ll write a full post on why a certain deal is good and how to maximize whatever you’re buying that day.
Here’s that overview of the first week of deals that start Monday. I plan to purchase deals on Monday only, but I see value on all five days. (Like last year, these are the all in prices. There is no discount for purchasing with an American Express.)
For the second week, I plan to purchase on Monday only, but again, there is potentially value on all five days.
The two deals that will be best for the highest number of people in the first two weeks are the sale of Choice Privileges points on Monday April 4, and the sale of Wyndham points on Monday April 11.
Here is what I wrote about the Choice Privileges point sale last year, and this year’s deal is identical. The Wyndham deal is new, and can be amazing because in May 2015 Wyndham made all of its hotels cost 15,000 points per night down to the last room available. That means you can stay at the fanciest Wyndhams worldwide for $150 per night for a one or two night stay.
Look out for individual posts on specific deals in the coming weeks.
