Southwest, long the stalwart of leisure travel, is entering the realm of business travel with the launch of the new Rapid Rewards Business program. The program is designed to reward businesses by offering their travelers an opportunity to earn Rapid Rewards points.

The companies can now earn Rapid Rewards points that can be applied toward travel on the company’s behalf. Business travelers who are Rapid Rewards Members will continue to earn Rapid Rewards points in their personal Rapid Rewards accounts.

Business travelers must link their Rapid Rewards accounts with their company’s travel program. The business will earn Rapid Rewards points at the following rates:

  • 3X Rapid Rewards Business points per $1 for flying Business Select fares
  • 2X Rapid Rewards Business points per $1 for flying Anytime fares
  • 1X Rapid Rewards Business point per $1 for flying Wanna Get Away fares

Similar to the personal Rapid Rewards points, the Rapid Rewards Business points don’t expire and there are no blackout dates when earning or redeeming Rapid Rewards Business points.

Points can only be redeemed on swabiz.com via the company’s corporate ID number.

Visit Southwest.com/RapidRewardsBusiness to learn more and apply for a Rapid Rewards Business account.

Points earned through the Rapid Rewards Business program do not count towards status or Southwest’s Companion Pass.

Final Thoughts

To take advantage of this opportunity to earn 25,000 bonus Rapid Rewards points, the businesses must apply before December 31 and book travel through a corporate booking tool.

This is an excellent opportunity for businesses to earn rewards on business travel that their employees do anyway. Now both the traveler and their employer can be rewarded for flying Southwest.
