Trip Report: Malaysia Airlines First Class Lounge
October 23, 2013
I had just landed after my second favorite flight ever at Kuala Lumpur International Airport.
See Trip Report: Paris to Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia Airlines First Class on an A380.
It was 6:30 AM, and I was tired, hungry, and in need of a shower.
You Still Get Priority Security and Boarding on Avios Awards that Fly American Airlines
October 22, 2013
I noticed in August 2012 that on my Avios award flight from Honolulu to Los Angeles, my boarding pass printed with "Priority AAccess," granting me priority security and priority boarding.
This (unintended?) benefit of British Airways Avios awards on American Airlines flights is still alive.

Review: British Airways Galleries Lounge North at Heathrow Terminal 5
September 10, 2013
I recently had a chance to relax and refuel in the British Airways Galleries Lounge North at Heathrow Terminal 5 before my Dreamliner flight to Stockholm.
The lounge features incredible food, a wide selection of booze, some cool aircraft views, and a variety of seating areas. It is very crowded, but overall I'd give the lounge very high marks.
Just after passing security, the lounge was on my left.
Upon presenting a business class ticket, I was admitted by an agent who I later saw was surfing the BA FlyerTalk forum from her desk.

Trip Report of the Brand New British Airways 787 with Tons of Pictures
September 7, 2013
I recently had a chance to fly both a British Airways A380 and a British Airways 787 on intra-European flights in fully-flat business class beds for peanuts. The circumstances of the flights and some photos of the A380 are here.
I booked myself a business class bed on the 787 from London-Heathrow to Stockholm for 7,500 Avios and $140.
Trip Report: Frankfurt to Seoul in Asiana First Class
September 4, 2013
My friend, Ryan from MA, recently took a trip to Italy and Taiwan during which he flew Lufthansa First Class, Asiana First Class, Thai First Class, ANA First Class and entered some of the world’s nicest lounges. I’ve asked him to do a series of trip reports, so we can all be inspired by some of the otherwise out-of-reach experiences miles can afford us. This is the first trip report on Lufthansa First Class.
After 5 days in Rome and 1 day in Bologna, my wife and I took a short Lufthansa business class flight from Rome to Frankfurt.

Are Under-Categorized Hotels the Best Use of Hotel Points : Review of the DoubleTree Kuala Lumpur
September 2, 2013
I am a lodging cheapskate. My ideal trip length is four weeks, so hotel bills would add up quickly. Right now I haven't been in the US since February, so I've had to come up with creative ways to sleep cheaply.
But just because I'm a cheapskate doesn't mean I don't want to stay at fancy hotels sometimes too. I'm jealous that Rookie Alli has two nights at any Hilton worldwide.

Trip Report: EVA Air Business Class from Los Angeles to Taipei
August 20, 2013
I recently had to take a quick trip to Bangladesh. While searching the United site, I found some good space on Thai, EVA, United and Asiana. All the airlines have flat bed seats, but I leaned toward EVA Air because they joined the Star Alliance two months ago, so I hadn't yet had a chance to fly them.
EVA flies the same flat bed business class seats as Cathay Pacific and the new American Air 777-300ER, which are widely considered the best business class seats in the world.
