Barclaycard is now offering cardmembers their real FICO credit score for free. This is huge news because in the past, it has been difficult to get your real FICO credit score for free.

Getting your credit report for free is easy. Go to annualcreditreport.com and request all three reports for free once a year--or one every four months.

United has announced a 20% discount on economy class awards from the US to Europe:

Roundtrip awards booked between now an November 19, 2013
for flights flown between January 13 and March 11, 2014
on itineraries wholly operated by United and United Express flights
will cost only 48k miles roundtrip, a 20% discount on the normal 60k price.

United ran a nearly identical promotion last year, so maybe this is becoming a yearly occurrence.

Recently, United and Delta have devalued their award charts. At the same time, the banks have really stepped up their offers for fixed-value bank-point cards that earn rewards ideal for economy class travel.

The 50k mile bonus offer is back on the Lufthansa card mentioned in this post until 6/30/14.

Delta really is in a class of its own--and not in a good way!

Today it announced that it is devaluing its devaluation. August's devaluation wasn't kicking in quickly enough, so today there is a double devaluation.

In mid-August, 2013, Delta devalued its award chart effective immediately for flights that take place after June 1, 2014. Today Delta devalued that devaluation by putting in a new award chart for travel February 1 - May 31, 2014.

Update: I've booked myself Seoul to Frankfurt to Munich to Toronto to Los Angeles one way for 70k miles. The long legs are in Asiana First Class and Lufthansa First Class. I can check out the First Class Terminal in Frankfurt from whenever I get to the airport until 10 AM.
