Earlier this year I published a series about how to maximize each type of transferrable point when redeeming on domestic awards. By doing so, all the major types of miles were covered.

When You Can and Can’t Pool Transferrable Points
September 16, 2016
Ever wondered if you can combine miles between two accounts in the same program? As in, you have some American Airlines miles and your wife does too, and you want to pool them together to redeem on one award ticket?
The answer is technically yes, but most of the time* there are transfer fees above one cent per mile, and often transaction fees on top of that, that make this a bad idea. The fees depend on how many miles you transfer.
How to Maximize Domestic Award Redemptions: Ultimate Rewards

Let’s talk about transferring Ultimate Rewards to airline partners for redeeming on domestic awards. This is part one in a series that will allow you to master redeeming awards within the United States, no matter what kind of points or miles you might have.
For those of you that have already read the first post in this series, you will notice repeat information at points in this post (as well as the rest of them to follow) because some of the airline partners overlap between transferrable points programs.

The Top 5 Business Credit Cards
July 9, 2016
Many people can get a small business credit card. Opening small business cards roughly doubles the number of amazing miles and points cards available to you.
Every small business credit card I’ve gotten I opened by putting my social security number as the tax ID, and by saying that my business is a sole proprietorship.

Reader Story: Part 1– Deciding on New Cards to Apply For
June 16, 2016
I have a friend who, after about five months off from applying for any new cards, decided to give it another go recently. He is writing a series for MileValue on his experience. Below is Part 1, where he decides on a new round of credit cards: the Ink Plus (this card is no longer available) and the British Airways Visa Signature® Card by Chase, as well as the Alaska Airlines Visa Signature and Business credit cards by Bank of America.

Save 1,000s of Miles Booking United Flights with Singapore Miles
July 29, 2014
Skip this 1 vs 1 comparison and see this post that compares eight Star Alliance award charts side by side.
I've created comparison charts of how many mile a certain award costs with United MileagePlus miles versus the same award with Singapore KrisFlyer miles. Why?
Singapore Airlines miles can be used to book all the same Saver award space that United releases to its non-elite members without any fuel surcharges. That makes it a relevant comparison.
For many routes, the Singapore KrisFlyer program charges fewer miles to book a United flight than United charges to book the same flight.

Award Flights to Europe Next Week and All Summer
June 25, 2014
Award space is still available on several Star Alliance flights to Europe this summer!
Tons of space is bookable with United miles, Lufthansa miles, or miles from any other Star Alliance carrier.
A lot of people are contacting the MileValue Award Booking Service saying they'd love to head to Europe this summer but are resigned to waiting until next summer if there's no space.
