I just got an intriguing email from Barclaycard and US Airways with the subject line "Limited-time Offer: Earn more miles this summer." The email says that I will earn 1.2 miles per dollar on my US Airways® Premier World MasterCard® in July and August automatically without having to register for the promotion.

The fine print says that I will earn 1.2 miles per dollar from July 1 until August 31, 2014 up to a maximum of 10,000 bonus miles.

US Airways' Share Miles promotion that allows two friends each to buy up to 50,000 US Airways miles for only 1.67 cents each ends Monday June 30, 2014.

For some people, it will be a great way to top up your US Airways account for deeply discounted premium cabin award space.

For five months, the Citi Executive AAdvantage World MasterCard has been offering 100,000 bonus American Airlines miles after spending $10,000 in the first three months.

Two months ago I wrote that US Airways would be losing five of its Star Alliance partners over the course of 2014.

Another one bites the dust in five days! June 29, 2014 is the last day to use US Airways miles to book Air New Zealand flights.

Note that Air New Zealand flights need only be booked by June 29. You can book US Airways awards up to about 335 days in advance.
