I booked myself an award from Honolulu to Manila with eight take offs and landings and multi-day stops on Pohnpei and Palau for 47,500 United miles by taking advantage of the free stopover on roundtrip United awards and how lenient the definition of "roundtrip" is.

American Airlines is running a sale on the purchase of their miles through November 13, 2015. You can buy up to 125,000 American Airlines miles during the sale and get up to 35,000 bonus miles plus 10% off the normal price.

The discount is fixed, but the bonus miles are tiered, based on how many miles you purchase.

American Airlines miles cost 2.95 cents each plus a 7.5% excise tax, and every purchase has a $30 processing fee.

Frontier is offering $19 one way fares on routes like Dallas to Denver and Phoenix to San Francisco.

The sale is valid for bookings made by 11:59 PM ET today (October 14) for domestic, nonstop travel on Mondays through Saturdays from October 20 to December 16 (excluding November 20 to December 1.) On the sale page, the fares show up as $24. You have to put “5OFF” into the promo code box on the home screen to bring them down to $19.

You do NOT have to be a Discount Den member to get these deals.

Through October 23, 2015, United is offering up to a 80% bonus on purchased miles. The size of the bonus depends on the number of miles you buy, with the largest 80% bonus kicking in at 30,000 miles purchased (54,000 total miles after the bonus.)

United miles normally cost 3.5 cents per mile plus a 7.5% tax, bringing the full price to 3.76 cents each.

United is offering a 20% discount on roundtrip Saver economy awards booked to Hawaii by November 5, 2015 and flown October 19, 2015 to March 3, 2016. The total cost of a roundtrip is 36,000 miles during the sale. There are blackout dates from November 20, 2015 to December 3, 2015 and December 16, 2015, to January 5, 2016.

Don’t Book This Promotion
If you have United miles, this may be a good deal. If you have Ultimate Rewards, do not transfer them to United miles to book this deal.
