All the Qantas Business and First Class Award Space Between the USA and Australia on the A380 for the Next 11 Months

The post title might be longer than the post. Here are both seats:

Sydney to Dallas on February 10

Melbourne to Los Angeles August 8

Here is my trip report of Qantas A380 Business Class.

There are no First Class seats on the Qantas A380 between Australia and the United States in either direction.

Qantas Improves Award Chart

Finally an anti-devaluation!

Qantas has lowered the number of miles needed to book Qantas and partner flights with Qantas miles. This is potentially big news since Citi ThankYou Points transfer 1:1 to Qantas miles.

ThankYou Points are easy to get. The Citi Prestige® Card comes with 40,000 bonus ThankYou Points after $3,000 in purchases made with your card in the first 3 months the account is open.

What Are the Changes?
Qantas is not touching Business or First Class award prices, only international economy.

Book the Longest Flights in the World in First Class with Miles

From February 1, 2016, Emirates will fly daily between Dubai and Panama City, which will be the longest scheduled commercial flight at over 8,500 miles. The flight is blocked for 17:35 heading west. Hopefully the flight will be bookable with Alaska miles, and it will definitely be bookable with Japan Airlines miles.

I have a special interest in long flights because when I am flying an ultra-luxurious First Class, I don't want the flight to end. Eight hours--a typical transatlantic flight--are not enough.

San Francisco to Sydney Qantas Flight Now Searchable on AA.com

The Qantas San Francisco to Sydney flight that begins in mid-December is now searchable and bookable on aa.com. This is really bad news for Business Class award space.

Last week I wrote that there was plenty of Business Class award space on the flight, searchable on Expert Flyer and bookable by calling American Airlines.

Amazing Qantas Business Class Space to Australia, BUT HIDDEN!

Qantas begins flying its 747s between San Francisco and Sydney on December 18, 2015. The plane features 58 flat beds in Business Class, Premium Economy, and economy with no First Class.

Uncharacteristically for Qantas flights, the route has amazing award space in Business Class that you can book with American Airlines miles. But the space is hidden; you need to know where to look.

I flew Qantas Business Class on its A380 two years ago from Melbourne to Los Angeles.

Avios News: Now No Fuel Surcharges on Qantas Flights Leaving Australia

Qantas has eliminated fuel surcharges on its flights that depart Australia.

This doesn't matter at all for paid tickets because $1 of fuel surcharge and $1 of base fare costs the same to you, but this is huge news for award tickets with miles that collect fuel surcharges like British Airways Avios.

Awards Between Australia or New Zealand and Africa

Yesterday I published "Awards Between South America and Australia or New Zealand" because two days ago I published “How to Book a RTW Trip in 2015. Use These Underpriced Awards Around the World,” which lists the best awards between far flung regions. Take a look at those if you’re an adventurer who wants to take a BIG trip.

I got thinking about other interesting ways to move on from Australia. There are two direct flights to Africa.

South African flies to Perth, Qantas flies to Sydney.

Tax Dump Etihad and Qantas First Class on the A380 Out of London

Etihad and Qantas both fly their stunning A380s with ultra-luxurious First Classes out of London.

Qantas First and Business Class Award Space to Australia

I wish Qantas released a ton of Business and First Class between the United States and Australia. Qantas flies directly from Los Angeles to Sydney, Melbourne, and Brisbane plus from Dallas to Sydney.

Fly Two A380 First Classes on One Award (British Airways and Qantas)

Your miles are as valuable as you are creative. For instance, you can combine two luxurious A380 First Classes onto one American Airlines award.
British Airways flies an A380 daily between Los Angeles and London.
