The offer was a targeted offer to buy up to 50,000 US Airways miles and get a 100% bonus in miles. That means I can obtain 100,000 US Airways miles for $1,881 or 1.88 cents each.

I just got an email today from Starwood Preferred Guest announcing up to a 25% discount on the purchase of Starpoints.

Yesterday I received an email inviting me to book two nights and get the third night free at participating Aloft, Element, and Four Points hotels because I have a Starwood Preferred Guest® Credit Card from American Express.

The offer indicates that on stays at participating Aloft, Element, and Four Points hotels, I will get the third night free if I pay for two nights with my Starwood card.
