I Don’t Think There’s Any Dreamliner Business Class Award Space on AA Flights Yet

I don't think there's a single MileSAAver award seat available in Business Class on the brand new American Airlines Dreamliner.

Southwest Announces Massive Devaluation, Effective April 17

Southwest currently has a purely fixed-value rewards program. For every dollar of the base fare, you have to redeem 70 Rapid Rewards to get your ticket (plus you pay a $5.60 per direction government tax on each redemption.)

That's about to get worse, much worse in my opinion.
Current Rapid Rewards Scheme
Let's look at an example. Here are the pries for tickets from Los Angeles to Tampa this March. They vary greatly by day from $207 to $334 to $607.

If you select a day with $211 fares, not all fares that day are $211.

Daily Getaways Huge Travel Deals Returns in One Month

Daily Getaways is a series of daily discounted travel packages sponsored by the US Travel Association and American Express that runs for five weeks. Every weekday at 1 PM ET, a discounted travel package or packages will go on sale, and the best deals sell out in just a few minutes.

The 2015 incarnation starts March 23, and the offers will begin to be posted March 16. This is two months earlier than Daily Getaways debuted in 2013 and 2014.

In 2013, I blogged every deal.

Easy Round the World with Miles on Luxury Products

We've been getting bad news in the miles world lately, so let me state unequivocally: miles still offer unmatched value to travel the world more, better, and cheaper.

Here's a round-the-world (RTW) trip you can take with miles that took me me about 10 minutes to find the award space for.

There's nothing particularly important about the cities or even the regions where this trip stops. It just shows an easy RTW award using one way awards.

United Says It Will Not Honor Mistake Tickets

United has posted a statement saying that it will not honor the mistake fares I posted about this morning that allowed one way or roundtrip First Class bookings from the United Kingdom to the United States for $100 or so. Here is the entire statement:
United is voiding the bookings of several thousand individuals who were attempting to take advantage of an error a third-party software provider made when it applied an incorrect currency exchange rate, despite United having properly filed its fares.
