Let’s talk about how to use American Airlines miles for awards to East and Southeast Asia.

American Airlines offers discounted MileSAAver awards within the United States and Canada to select cardholders, including people with the Citi® / AAdvantage® Executive World Elite™ MasterCard®, the Citi® / AAdvantage® Platinum Select® MasterCard®, and the CitiBusiness® / AAdvantage® Platinum Select® World MasterCard®.

With all of those cards, you can book one way awards within the USA and Canada for as little as 6,500 miles for flights less than 500 miles flown or 8,750 miles one way for longer flights.

Every two months, American Airlines publishes a list of new destinations in the United States and Canada eligible for

American Airlines is offering up to 100,000 bonus miles and 10% off on the purchase of miles through July 8, 2016. You can now buy 250,000 American Airlines miles including bonus for $4,311 or 1.72 cents each. That's the cheapest I've ever seen American Airlines miles for sale.

The discount is fixed, but the bonus miles are tiered, based on how many miles you purchase. The best deal is to buy 150,000.

American Airlines miles cost 2.95 cents each plus a 7.5% excise tax, and every purchase has a $30 processing fee.

My friend, Sarah Page, recently took a trip to Brazil to escape the dismal winter weather in Buenos Aires that drove me to Brazil and then Europe myself. She and her friends used tips they learned from this blog to save money and earn extra travel rewards on the trip.

China Eastern flies its 777-300ER with flat beds in Business Class and a flat double bed in First Class for two people to share between several American cities and Shanghai with connections throughout Asia.

You can book Business Class for 77,500 Korean miles or 80,000 Delta miles, and you can book First Class for 100,000 Korean miles. If you book two First Class award seats, you can combine your beds into one large double bed.

The Citi® / AAdvantage® Executive World Elite™ MasterCard® comes with 60,000 bonus American Airlines miles after spending $5,000 in the first three months. It is a premium American Airlines credit card with a $450 annual fee that grants the cardholder Admirals Club membership.

Until 2015, adding authorized users didn't get your friends and family access to American Airlines clubs, but that has changed.

You can now add up to 10 authorized users to your Citi® / AAdvantage® Executive World Elite™ MasterCard® account, and each one will get access to American Airlines lounges for himself and two guests.

Starting December 1, 2016 United's new Business Class product Polaris will begin service, eventually flying to 330 destinations in more than 50 countries, on the following aircraft:

Boeing 777-300ER
Boeing 787-10
Airbus A350-1000
Retrofitted Boeing 767-300's and 777-200's.

The first to be updated will be the 777-300ER's and the rest will follow. Polaris will be standard on all international Business Class routes.
The Old Business Class
It is a big pet peeve of mine when a Business Class product has a seat layout that doesn't provide aisle access to all passengers.

Travel from San Francisco, Washington DC, Cleveland, Houston, Denver, and New York to Zurich, Switzerland; or Frankfurt, Germany for $414+ in American Airlines economy. Most of the availability for these deals is between September 2016 and April 2017.
