Which of My Personal Awards Could You Have Booked? Part 2

Yesterday I published the first part of a three-part look at 17 awards I've booked myself for travel between mid-2012 and mid-2014.

Which of My Personal Awards Could You Have Booked? Part 1

Today I'll look at five more of the awards I've booked myself that range from economy flights in Argentina to First Class flights to my favorite award ever.

The awards I'll discuss in this post

How many of these five awards could you have booked? How did I book them?

7.

Update: The offer to email me later in this post resulted in free drinks at the 2013 Chicago Seminars. The offer is now dead.

I book frequent-flyer-mile awards professionally through the MileValue Award Booking Service. I know how to book complex awards and squeeze every inch out of my miles. But do I routinely do it for myself?

I think I've booked myself 17 award for travel from May 2012 through March 2014.

New United Dreamliner Route to Europe Has Best Business Class Award Availability

According to Airline Route, United will fly its Boeing 787 Dreamliner from Houston to London from December 20, 2013 to May 5, 2014.

I like to track the routes of Dreamliners that fly to the US because they're a great way for beginners to get a state-of-the-art business class flights that are easy redemptions.

This route from Houston to London has the best business class award availability I've seen on any United Dreamliner route.

When is the award space?

75k Membership Rewards Business Gold Card Offer

Tahsir forwarded to me the following offer for the Business Gold Rewards Card that was emailed to his friend:

75k bonus Membership Rewards
after spending $5k in the first three months
all the other features of the card's standard offers

Everyone should check their emails for a similar email from American Express with the subject: "Your pre-approved offer ends 10/6. Earn 75,000 Pts"

If you don't have one, it's possible that the offer will be public tomorrow.

How good is the offer? Who can get in on it?

This is an incredible offer.

United Dreamliner to Fly One-Off Domestic Route Over Thanksgiving

Update October 5, 2013: United has cancelled this one-off route, but there are other opportunities to get on this flight domestically.

United's 787 Dreamliner will fly a single roundtrip from Seattle to Houston over with perfect flight times for this Thanksgiving.

How can you get on the Dreamliner on a domestic flight for far less than an international flight?

There's currently only Standard (double-price) award space on the flight in both directions.

That means a roundtrip on a flat bed would set you back 100k United miles.
