United Polaris Review Covid Edition: Newark to Tel Aviv Polaris

Anna’s note: Israel is still closed to tourists and only Israeli citizens are allowed to enter. Please check updated travel restrictions before making any plans.

Know the Entry Requirements for Each Country

As travel resumes, it’s paramount to know each country’s requirements, even if you are just transiting through and are there for a short layover. I like IATA’s Travel Regulations Map and Kayak also maintains a comprehensive list of travel restrictions by country.

United has its own resource where you can check international travel requirements.

Sale on New Direct Singapore Awards: The World’s Longest Flight!

If you book by September 30, 2018 for travel dates no later than November 30, you can try out some of the world's longest flights, on Singapore Airlines nonetheless, for big discounts. Singapore Krisflyer is promoting the airline's newest routes between Singapore and the United States with a sale on premium economy and Business award prices.

This is exciting because Singapore offers one of the best products in the sky and you probably already have access to Singapore miles via any of the major transferrable point types.

Anatomy of an Award: 10 Hours in Singapore First Class for 58,225 Miles & No Fuel Surcharges

Update 6/23/16: Singapore is ending its Sao Paulo <-> Barcelona route, which is reviewed here in First Class. The last flight is October 20, 2016. Singapore will continue to fly Singapore <-> Barcelona, but that isn't much consolation, since Sao Paulo <-> Barcelona is specifically such a great deal. Award space is great Barcelona <-> Sao Paulo through October 20.

I just booked myself an award from Sao Paulo to Barcelona: 10+ hours in Singapore First Class for 58,225 Singapore miles + $37, a route I've highlighted before as a sweet spot.

Turkish has seven routes from the United States to Istanbul

Note that the flights need only be booked by July 31. You can book US Airways awards up to about 335 days in advance.
