Capital One Announces Changes to Its Rewards Program and Venture X

Capital One is spicing it up with some new changes to its rewards program. You’ll see a new transfer partner, elevated transfer bonuses and even new cancellation options to keep you feeling confident when booking flights.

New Transfer Partner

First up, Capital One is adding a brand-new transfer partner, Virgin Red. If you aren’t familiar with Virgin Red, it’s Virgin Group’s new rewards club program that launched in the United States last fall.

It allows you to earn and redeem points through flights, hotel stays, experiences and charitable donations.

U.S. Bank Triple Cash Rewards Card

A new card for small business owners just recently hit the market and it’s a card you may want to consider if you’re interested in earning cash back. U.S. Bank’s new business card, the Triple Cash Rewards card, offers 3% cash back on four categories where businesses tend to spend the most.

Big Changes to the Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card and Chase Sapphire Reserve®

As of Aug. 16, 2021, you’re going to see some new benefits added to both the Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card and Chase Sapphire Reserve® credit cards. These benefits include increases in earning rates, hotel credits and point bonuses. Here is a breakdown of the changes that are now live.

Oh, and the Sapphire Preferred is also sporting a new look.

Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card Changes

The previous earning rates for the Chase Sapphire Preferred were 2X on dining (including takeout and delivery) and travel and 1X on all other purchases made with the card.
