Until August 9, 2015, you can buy Alaska Airlines miles for as little as 1.97 cents each. Go to the sale page for Alaska miles and input your Alaska Mileage Plan number. People are being offered bonuses of 35% to 50% on purchased miles. I received a 40% bonus offer.
Non-cardholders of the Alaska Airlines Visa seem to be getting the 35% bonus offer, and cardholders are getting a maximum bonus of 35%-50%.
The sale is structured as a bonus on the normal number of miles you’d receive.

Update: I transferred 26,000 LifeMiles to my friend for $390. He received 52,000 after the 100% bonus. I did this because he likes to book one way Business Class tickets between the United States and Europe for about $1,000 by using LifeMiles and 52,000 miles gives him the base to do that twice.
The transfer is instant, and I got 3x points on my Citi ThankYou® Premier Card because the $390 coded as an airline purchase.

American Airlines is running a sale on the purchase of their miles through Monday July 13, 2015. You can buy up to 100,000 American Airlines miles during the sale and get up to 27,500 bonus miles plus 15% off the normal price.
The discount is fixed, but the bonus miles are tiered, based on how many miles you purchase.
American Airlines miles cost 2.95 cents each plus a 7.5% excise tax, and every purchase has a $30 processing fee.
