Credit card sign up bonuses, spending on credit cards/through portals, and earning via flying are the major opportunities to earn big chunks of rewards. But being a true miles and points enthusiast means taking advantage of even the little opportunities when you can, that only take a minute or two to sign up for and over time add up to big savings. Every penny–or mile–counts.

Here are two ways you can easily boost your balances this weeks. Both are also useful if you’re looking for a way to refresh the lifespan of miles that are on the verge of expiration (and you don’t have a credit card that earns Alaska or Delta miles anymore).

  1. Earn 500 Alaska Airlines miles for opening a Groupon Local account and making of purchase of $30 or more.
  2. Link your Delta SkyMiles account to your Lyft account.

Groupon Local

If you’ve never started a Groupon Local account, open a new one and after your first purchase of over $30, you’ll earn 500 Alaska miles.

Even if you already have a Groupon Local account, you can link it to your Alaska Mileage Plan account and earn four miles for every dollar spent on Groupon Local, Getaways, and Goods purchases.

Sign up here by clicking “Get Started!” and entering your Alaska Mileage Plan number on the next screen.

After doing so, the promo code below should pop up.

Lyft

Through August 31, you can earn one Delta mile per dollar spent (excluding taxes, fees, tolls, and tips) on Lyft rides if you link your accounts. For all rides to and from an airport, you’ll earn three Delta miles per dollar spent. This bonus is in addition to whatever category bonus you’ll earn from your credit card.

Bottom Line

These are impassive ways to be earning extra miles. Why not?
