(1:30 am on August 19): You can now book Marriott awards–which also includes SPG properties–online at You can also navigate to, where you will be rerouted to, except for the fact that it says SPG in the top left corner instead of Marriott.

If you are an SPG member that hasn’t already created a new Marriott account, you should see a new account number appear when signing into your old SPG account:

“All SPG members will receive a new 9-digit account number that aligns with the specifications of the new system.  The new account number will appear through a pop-up when they log into their account. Passwords will stay the same (unless the member elects to change it themselves). Some members of Marriott Rewards will also receive a new account number. These members will receive an email with their new account information or a call from our customer engagement centers”.

All-suite SPG properties, the crazy expensive ones that priced off the old SPG award chart (at the equivalent of 90 to 105k a night), are bookable for 60k points a night through the rest of 2018.

Remember that standard pricing only lasts through 2018. Peak pricing hits in 2019.

The new Marriott programs terms and conditions were leaked a few days ago and in them it stated that such properties would not be slotted into Category 7 for 2018, but actually cost more points as they have no standard rooms. Turns out that scare was a false alarm, and that Marriott intends on editing that part of the terms. It was confirmed by One Mile at a Time that you can indeed book them for 60k points a night now.
