Barclaycard is now offering cardmembers their real FICO credit score for free. This is huge news because in the past, it has been difficult to get your real FICO credit score for free.
Getting your credit report for free is easy. Go to annualcreditreport.com and request all three reports for free once a year–or one every four months. The credit report doesn’t come with the score. Getting a FAKO score–the nickname people give to fake FICO scores–is easy enough too. But this is the first way I know of to get your real FICO score for free.
This is not a limited time promotion or a free trial of a paid service. This is no-strings-attached access to your real credit score for holders of several popular Barclaycards including the Barclaycard Arrival Plus™ World Elite MasterCard®.
How do you get your free FICO score from Barclaycard?
Barclaycard announced on Facebook that Barclaycard Arrival, Rewards, and Ring would be able to access their FICO scores for free. While I want to get the Arrival soon, the only current Barclaycards I have are The Lufthansa Premier Miles & More World MasterCard® and US Airways Premier World MasterCard®.
The good news is that I was able to sign up for the free score benefit with my Lufthansa card. (I don’t know whether you can sign up with the US Airways card. I suspect you can. Let us know in the comments if you have.)
Signing up takes a few seconds. Click here, and accept the terms and conditions. Your real FICO score will show up and some helpful tools will be displayed to help you understand your score.
By knowing and understanding your score, you can better manage your credit score and credit cards to earn more rewards and more travel.
This is a sneaky good benefit from Barclaycard that I am excited to personally use to track my credit score. In fact, the new feature automatically tracks the history of your score, so seeing the effects of getting new cards over time will be easy,
If you don’t have a Barclaycard, my three favorites are:
The Lufthansa Premier Miles & More World MasterCard with 50,000 bonus Miles & More miles after spending $5k in the first three months. Offer ends 12/15/13. The standard offer is 20k miles.
Barclaycard Arrival Plus™ World Elite MasterCard® with 40,000 miles after spending $3k in the first three months.
US Airways Premier World MasterCard® with 30,000 US Airways miles after first purchase
Just getting started in the world of points and miles? The Chase Sapphire Preferred is the best card for you to start with.
With a bonus of 60,000 points after $4,000 spend in the first 3 months, 5x points on travel booked through the Chase Travel℠ and 3x points on restaurants, streaming services, and online groceries (excluding Target, Walmart, and wholesale clubs), this card truly cannot be beat for getting started!

This is a great benefit. I was thrilled to see my FICO score 65 points higher than my FAKO score through credit karma.
This is awesome. Like @Nickfromct, I’ve found my FAKO score to be consistently lower than my real FICO, by around 50-60 pts as well. Quite a significant difference.
Scott
This worked with my USAIR Airways premier MasterCard. Thank you.
Also signed up with a US Airways Mastercard. Thanks for sharing!
I tried to find a link to my (real) FICO score at my USAir Premier World MasterCard website and couldn’t find it. Can you tell me (all) how you got it. Thanks!
I got mine a few days ago from the USAir card. It’s about 10 points higher than Credit Karma
Awesome, thanks for the link! Other bloggers have been posting about this, but despite scouring the Barclaycard site, I couldn’t find the place to sign up for it!
Scott,
This worked with my US Airways card and as others seem to be finding out, my FICO score was 45-50 points higher than my FAKO scores. Thanks for the heads up!
What a great perk! I had no idea this was available (I have the US Airways Mastercard). I will be interested in seeing my 3-month progress as well, since I just completed a home purchase and (afterwards) started my first travel/credit card application blitz. Thanks, Scott, for keeping us informed!
Just note that this based only on Trans Union data. Scores can vary between CRAs and vary significantly if there are errors.

Just to be clear, this isn’t considered a credit pull right?
Very cool. Happy to see I’m higher than my wife by 8 points! Maybe this is why I got a few more thousand dollars in credit limit when we both signed up for the Frontier card.
Wow! What a cool benefit. Plus, my FICO score is 791? I’ve never seen it higher than around 740. What a nice surprise.
This is great and it tips the balance for me wanting to keep my Lufthansa card. Thanks BAR!
Yes, such a great customer-friendly move. I wonder what it’s costing them. I love it.
For those wondering, Barclays uses TransUnion data and the FICO score they are showing is the classic FICO 08 (sometimes just called FICO 8 or TU-08) score.
Yep – FICO score works under the US Airways card as well.
Found my score (USAirways card) with your link but can’t seem to find it just using the website. BTW it was only 13 points higher than Creditsesame.
I also can’t find it in the account, only through the link I provided.

Didn’t work for me, says:
Unfortunately, we’re unable to display your FICO® Score. Possible causes and resolutions include:
– New cardmembers
It may take up to 3 weeks for a FICO® Score to be posted for new accounts.
– Credit freeze
You may have asked TransUnion to freeze your credit file, so it cannot be accessed without your permission. The freeze would need to be removed from your TransUnion credit file before we can display your FICO® Score as part of this program.
– Personal information not matching
The personal information (name, address, Social Security number) on your Barclaycard account does not match the information at TransUnion. Please contact the number on the back of your card to make sure that your personal information is accurate and up to date. After that, you should contact TransUnion at (800) 916-8800 to validate your personal information on your credit file with them.
