The AT&T Access More Card from Citi comes with a $650 credit toward the purchase of a new smartphone after $2,000 in purchases in the first three months and 3x points on online purchases at retail and travel sites.

The $650 credit is enough to get a brand new iPhone 6 for free, and the 3x points on online purchases can turn into 4.8% back toward the purchase of American Airlines flights.

The Citi ThankYou® Premier Card comes with 40,000 bonus ThankYou Points after $3,000 in purchases within the first 3 months of account opening. Those 40,000 points are now worth $500 toward airfare, hotels, cruises, and car rentals (25% more.)

I went into my thankyou.com account to search for car rentals, and the results showed a 1.25 cents per point valuation.

It's fantastic that Citi made car, hotel, and and cruise redemptions more valuable, but I don't expect to use this new benefit.

The Citi ThankYou® Premier Card changed its 3x categories to gas and travel on April 19. I covered just how broad those categories are in this post at the time.

At the time of the change, I hoped that Uber fell into the taxi/limousines category.

Citi ThankYou Points transfer 1:1 to 12 types of airline miles. If you transfer your points to miles, they become those miles with all the related rules, restrictions, and award charts. Transferring ThankYou Points to miles is the main alternative to using them like cash toward any flight.

Two weeks ago, several blogs reported that transfers from Citi ThankYou Points to Etihad Guest miles made before May 15, 2015 would have a 25% bonus.

To me, this was huge news because this was the first transfer bonus of Citi ThankYou Points to airline miles.

You can share your Citi ThankYou Points with anyone else who has a ThankYou account completely free of charge. This is way better than Chase Ultimate Rewards and American Express Membership Rewards, which only allow sharing with a spouse.
