Since the start of the pandemic, American Express has been quite proactive in adding non-travel benefits to its impressive lineup of credit cards. We’ve seen streaming services, shipping and dining credits, and more in 2020.
But for customers who still aren’t traveling much and aren’t taking advantage of all the travel-related benefits offered by the cards in their portfolio in 2021, Amex wants to make sure you still have a reason to use their products for your everyday spending.
A few weeks ago Amex announced an addition of the up to $30 PayPal monthly credit (enrollment required) on The Platinum Card® from American Express. This new credit definitely helps offset the high annual fee of $695 (Rates & Fees) during the time when most cardholders aren’t taking advantage of the travel benefits that come with the card.
We also recently heard about the addition of the up to $10 Uber credit (enrollment required) to the American Express® Gold Card in 2021. This benefit is already live, so if you add your Amex Gold card to your Uber wallet, you should see up to $10 Uber credit automatically added to your Uber cash balance.
Today American Express announced a whole slew of new credits on the Delta, Hilton and Marriott cards for the current year, including dining credits, cell phone credits and spending bonuses on a number of its co-branded cards. The new credits should be available to all current cardholders that were cardholders as of 1/1/2021.
Amex Offers
Unlike the 2020 credits that were rolled out to all eligible cardholders as well as the up to $30 PayPal credit, all new credits announced today are issued as Amex Offers. This means, and this is very important, that you have to go into your account, check each card and add the offers one by one.
It’s a good practice to check for Amex offers periodically anyway, especially on the first of the month. Here’s a new offer I found today on a number of my cards, but ironically not on one of the Hilton cards.
Dining Credit on American Express Delta, Hilton and Marriott Personal Cards
As of today, Amex added dining credits to Delta, Hilton and Marriott personal cards. The amount ranges from up $5 to $20 in monthly credits (enrollment required). You can potentially earn up to $220 in card statement credits on dine in or take out at U.S. restaurants, depending on the type of card you have.
Remember that this is an Amex offer, so don’t forget to add the offer first to all your eligible cards.
The dining credit is even available on the Hilton Honors American Express Card.
The amount the credit is depend on the card you have:
- Hilton Honors American Express Aspire Card, Delta SkyMiles® Reserve American Express Card and Marriott Bonvoy Brilliant™ American Express® Card: $20 monthly credit up to $220 in total statement credits (enrollment required)
- Delta SkyMiles® Platinum American Express Card: $15 monthly credit up to $165 in total statement credits (enrollment required)
- Hilton Honors American Express Surpass® Card, and Delta SkyMiles® Gold American Express Card: $10 monthly credit up to $110 in total statement credits (enrollment required)
- Hilton Honors American Express Card: $5 monthly credit up to $55 in total statement credits (enrollment required)
Wireless Credit on American Express Delta, Hilton and Marriott Business Cards
If you have a co-branded Amex business card, check your accounts for these offers on wireless services:
- Marriott Bonvoy Business® American Express® Card: $15 monthly credit up to $165 in total statement credits (enrollment required)
- Delta SkyMiles® Gold Business American Express Card: $10 monthly credit up to $110 in total statement credits (enrollment required)
- Delta SkyMiles® Platinum Business American Express Card: $15 monthly credit up to $165 in total statement credits (enrollment required)
- Delta SkyMiles® Reserve Business American Express Card: $20 monthly credit up to $220 in total statement credits (enrollment required)
- The Hilton Honors American Express Business Card: $10 monthly credit up to $110 in total statement credits (enrollment required)
American Express Hilton Cards Spending Bonuses
In addition to dining and cell phone credits we’ve also got some new spending bonuses on co-branded Hilton cards. Unlike other offers unveiled today this offer ends on June 30th, 2021:
- Spend $5,000 and get 10,000 bonus points. This can be done up to ten times for a total of 100,000 bonus points (enrollment required).
This offer should stack with existing category bonuses, such as 6X on groceries or 12X at Hilton properties when you use your American Express Hilton Surpass credit card.
American Express Marriott Cards Spending Bonuses
There’s a spending bonus on Marriott cards as well (Marriott Bonvoy Brilliant and Marriott Bonvoy Business). The offer ends on December 31,2021:
- Spend $7,500 and get 7,500 bonus points. This can be done ten times for a total of 75,000 bonus points. (enrollment required)
Final Thoughts
This is definitely welcome news to all American Express co-branded card holders. All these offers help offset the annual fees during the time when most people are staying home. Sometimes, like with a no fee Amex Hilton card, you’ll even come out ahead.
And when you consider all the other credits that come as standard benefits, such as airline incidentals and the resort credits that come as standard benefits of Amex Hilton Aspire card, the already great card becomes a solid moneymaker.
Don’t forget to first add these offers to your relevant cards before you put them back in your wallet.

If only there was an app to keep track of all these offers.
And if only there was a way to combine the Uber eats offers from all the Amex cards.
