Have an American Express Platinum Card? We’ve got a little good news for you.

You now have access to a variety of Lufthansa lounges in the Munich airport, depending on what airline and class you’re flying. You won’t see any info available on Amex’s website at the moment but they have updated their mobile application.

Open the Amex app on your smartphone, and tap Membership on the toolbar at the bottom of the screen. Then tap Find A Lounge.

Search by typing Munich or MUC in the top. Munich Airport should pop up.

If you have an American Express Platinum, four new lounge options will display under the already existing two, like below: two Lufthansa Business Lounges and two Lufthansa Senator Lounges.

Clicking on a specific lounge brings up an overview of the details and also information about the access policy.

If flying Lufthansa, Swiss, or Austrian, you’ll be able to visit either of the Lufthansa Business Lounges in Terminal 2 (even on an economy ticket).

If flying a premium cabin on Lufthansa, Swiss, or Austrian, you’ll be able to visit either of the Lufthansa Business Lounges in Terminal 2.

If you have a Centurion card, you’ll also have access to the Lufthansa First Class Lounge in Terminal as long as your flying Lufthansa, Swiss, or Austrian regardless of the class of service.

Wondering where else your American Express Platinum card grants access to? Check out Amex’s Global Lounge Collection finder (you’ll have to login to proceed) to see where you can hang out in transit on your next trip.
