Delta has put many routes between the US and Mexico on "sale" right now. I say "sale" because Delta doesn't have a published award chart anymore, but we know from charts maintained by people like us online that the standard lowest level US > Mexico award price is 17,500 Delta miles one way. Right now many routes are only 12,000 SkyMiles roundtrip.

Right now there are incredibly cheap roundtrips to Cancun for Fall Travel, starting at $213 roundtrip. I see outstanding fares from Atlanta, Baltimore, Boston, Dallas, and Cleveland.

Delta miles are the worst. I would rather have United, US Airways, American, and in most cases British Airways Avios. But that doesn't mean Delta miles are useless. When a good use pops up, I like to spotlight it, so that people with a stash of Delta miles can see the valuable possibilities.
