Today is the third day of the last week of five weeks of discounted travel packages sponsored by the US Travel Association and American Express called Daily Getaways.
Every weekday at 1 PM ET, a discounted travel package or packages will go on sale and will sell out in a few minutes. Some of the offers will be awesome; some will be duds. Today’s is a great shot–and the last shot during the 2013 Daily Getaways–at some great Vegas packages.
Today’s deal is discounted Vegas packages from MGM Resorts. There is a budget option for $126 and luxury options for as much as $1,485.
How can you get the deal?
All Daily Getaways packages are discounted. And you get an additional 10% off each sale price by paying with an American Express, so that’s a no-brainer, and I’ll always quote prices after the American Express discount.
Prices today are:
- $126 for three night at Circus Circus, a $75 dining voucher, and two one-day passes to the Adventure Dome Theme Park. 40 available.
- $742.50 for two nights in a Penthouse Suite at Monte Carlo, a $150 dining credit, and roundtrip airport limo transfer. 10 available.
- $1,237.50 for two nights in a Bellagio Suite, two tickets to O by Cirque du Soleil, prix fixe dinner for two, two spa treatments (up to a $500 value), and roundtrip airport limo transfer. 6 available.
- $1,462.50 for three nights in a suite at Aria, prix fixe dinner and drinks for two at one of five restaurants, two spa treatments, two tickets to Zarkana by Cirque du Soleil, and roundtrip airport limo transfer. 6 available.
- $1,485 for two nights in a two bedroom suite (room for four people) at Mandalay Bay, four tickets to Michael Jackson ONE by Cirque du Soleil, two $700 dining credits at any Mandalay Bay restaurant, four tickets to Shark Reef Aquarium, four VIP passes to the Foundation Room, and roundtrip airport transfers. 6 available.
In general, I think these are all incredible deals, as long as you like Vegas. The cheapest one is an absolute steal. Even if Circus Circus is one of the least fancy and cheapest places on the strip, three nights for $126 over a weekend including a $75 dining voucher is incredible.
At the top end, all the expensive packages are incredible values if you normally take a trip to Vegas that you’d pay retail or close-to-retail for. For instance, the $1,485 package at Mandalay Bay includes $1,400 worth of dining credits plus two nights in a two bedroom suite plus a lot more.
I’m sitting these out because I bought a $297 Vegas package on Daily Getaways a few weeks ago, and these packages have to be used by the end of the year, so I wouldn’t want to use two packages.
Purchasing the Packages
To maximize your chances of getting in on the deal, I recommend using a site like whattimeisit.com to figure out the official time. This week’s sales have all started on time to the second. Keep refreshing for the best chance.
This is what happens if you try to purchase something where all quantities are already in someone’s cart.
This doesn’t mean the deal is sold out. If someone doesn’t complete his purchase, that quantity will immediately become available for someone else. Keep checking until the dreaded “Sold Out” appears.

- Four (4) tickets for admission to Mandalay Bay’s Shark Reef.
- Access for Four (4) people to Mandalay Bay’s exclusive member’s only Foundation Room.
- Flight information required 48 hours in advance for airport limousine transportation, subject to availability. Gratuity not included.
- Shows, products, and services cannot be substituted. No part of this package is transferable or redeemable for cash.
- Guests will arrange all details with the Mandalay Bay.
