  1. Do you know if you can use the $99 companion pass to fly to Hawaii?

  2. I won’t be able to get a business card since I do not own a business. I have a rental property which is being managed by a property manager. I suppose if I take over, I can apply for a business name. If I apply for new cards every 91 days, what should I do with the old cards?

    I love your website!

  3. How do you redeem miles earned with Frontier Airlines? I see they are not partners in any of the three alliances.

  4. I completed my first app-o-rama back in March and got the US Air personal MC, I was charged the $89 fee right away, is that common? I did have one a couple years ago, could that be the reason?

Or possibly it’s not waived the first year, I was thinking it was, but now that I look back and don’t see any mention of that.

  5. Hi Mark:

If I spend $1000 in a car repair will that repair BE consider a purchases AND Earn 2X miles
    with the Barclaycard Arrival Card?

  6. Hi Scott:
Sorry to call you Mark I don’t know what I had in my mind when I wrote the post I guess I am getting old.

  7. Just found out that Barclay has a weird redemption policy for Travel. Let’s say you’ve paid $160 for an airline ticket, and by the end of the 90 days redemption period you only have 14,000 miles. You can’t redeem all your miles for a $140 credit. The redemption process rounds it down to the nearest multiple of 2,500, so you can only redeem 12,500 miles, with the remaining 1,500 just sitting in your account.
As far as I know, this is not listed under their “rules” section. I’ve tried arguing this point with their customer service, but did not get anywhere. Their answer boils down to “the redemption rules are at the discretion of the bank”.
